Travel Insurance in Nepal

Nepal is one of the most popular trekking destinations in the world and it comes to no surprise considering the back drop of the mighty Himalayas. Kathmandu is the capital and the main base for backpackers and offers everything you would need for a trek.
Nepal does have issues at the moment and it is not an entirely safe destination. The best advice is to check your government's travel advice pages (UK foreign office is linked on the right). Travel insurance is essential and you should also consider that many travel insurance policies will only cover you up to 4000m in altitude if trekking. For many of the more popular treks such as the Everest Base camp or the Annapurna Circuit you will need travel insurance that will cover treks over 5000m.

Travel insurance is really necessary in order to enjoy a safer journey without worrying about the risks that may ruin the overall travel experience. I always prefer to buy this policy when ever I make up a plan and almost purchased one time travel policy as I travel rarely.
